Bus drivers in Helsinki to hold a 24-hour strike on May 2

Bus drivers working for Helsingin Bussiliikenne Oy and organized in the trade union JHL will be on strike on Wednesday May 2. The 24-hour strike begins and ends at midnight.

JHL has decided to organize the strike because of the problems JHL's negotiators have encountered during collective bargaining with the representatives of Helsingin Bussiliikenne Oy. The employer organization PTY is not willing to apply the framework agreement, largely approved in the labour market, and is trying to undermine the working conditions of its drivers.

JHL's goal is for the present parties to sign a collective agreement whose cost impact is based on the framework agreement. The current collective agreement expires on April 30.
