An Unusual Event In Saudi Arabia - Labor Strike In Makkah

Over 600 construction workers employed by a major construction company on a project close to the Grand Mosque in Makkah are in the second day of a strike.

The workers are on strike because their employer has failed to pay their salaries for two months, and in addition has not paid overtime.

They also called for salary increases and better accommodations.

Police were present but did not intervene.
