Railway workers reject accusations over Constitución incidents and point to PO27 Dec 10 Laborstart The head of the La Fraternidad railway workers union, Omar Maturana, rejected the accusations made by the leader of the Partido Obrero (Workers’ Party), Marcelo Ramal, who had said that "the unionized goons mounted the incidents at the Constitución train station." "We had nothing to do with the incidents at Constitución. As a matter of fact, we decided to send all our men home right after the railways were blocked in Avellaneda in order to preserve their physical integrity.” Asked what his union’s reaction would be if the railways get blocked again, Maturana said: "We’ll do the same: we’ll get all trains into the warehouses and go home. We are tired of the blockades, we are tired of seeing tools of work being vandalized and destroyed, tired of seeing demonstrators destroying the stations, insulting and stoning our workers." On the allegations made by Ramal, Maturana indicated "I don’t know one PO member who likes working,” adding “users, workers and the entire society is tired of this, plus I don’t understand why they protest with their faces covered. We have a democratic system. Do they have anything to hide?”
