Hyundai calls strike illegal, 170 workers arrested

Hyundai employees have been on strike since Sunday and production at Hyundai's Chennai plant has been stopped. Nearly 170 striking employees have been arrested on Tuesday, with the strike being termed illegal.

Workers at India's largest car exporter Hyundai Motor India are on a sit-in strike for the third time this year with the same demand: the reinstatement of some dismissed employees.

And some captive suppliers around the plant are also facing stoppage.
