ATE march hinders BA city traffic08 Apr 10 Laborstart Several demonstrations had been held in Buenos Aires province and City by workers' organizations and unemployed that generated chaos in traffic. Members of the ATE State Workers' union demonstrated at the crossroads of Callao and Rivadavia Avenues in front of the Congress, after blocking different points of the city demanding "to be confirmed and taken effective at their job posts, salaries' increase and a notorious improvement of the labour conditions." Earlier, protesters blocked the Buenos Aires-La Plata highway, the intersection of San Martín and General Paz, and the Acceso Oeste highway. Meanwhile, the militants of the far-left social organization "Corriente Clasista y Combativa" (CCC) marched toward the Health Ministry in support to the Argentine Health Professionals Union (FESPROSA), whose members demanded an increase of wages as well the creation of a legislation that guarantees a universal healthcare system. |
