KAHUTINDO-BWI-GS FACKET Workers Activities Center Ground Breaking in Central Java, Indonesia10 Aug 09 Laborstart The global workers solidarity has strengthened its bound in Indonesia with the ground breaking of the Workers Activities Center (WAC) building in Semarang under the cooperation program of the indonesian FSP KAHUTINDO, Building and Wood Workers International, and the Swedish Graphical and Wood Trade Union, on 1st August 2009. "The building of the center is a reshaping of more powerful organising efforts through the various activities the union will deliver more effectively. Therefore, we need not only have it constructed, but also sustain it for the future, whilst multiplying the numbers of our members in the country and in the region," Bro. Ambet Yuson, BWI Asia Pacific Regional Representative, strongly emphasized in his remark. Bro. Khoirul Anam, the President of FSP KAHUTINDO in front of his union representatives from all regions in the country attending the ground breaking event said: "Amongst other things that we share in common, KAHUTINDO and the Swedish GS Facket have a joint vision of this center as the building of a stronger union movement, not only in Indonesia but also globally." The Workers Activities Center located in an industrial area of southern Semarang district in Central Java, will cater for the development of Vocational Skills, Organising and Information Technology of Workers and their communities. |
