Narayanganj transport workers observe strike to protest AL vandalism

Transport workers of Dhaka-Narayanganj route went off work for six hours from 6:00am today in protest against ransacking of some vehicles by a group of AL worker at Chasara yesterday.

Transport owners demanded punishment to the people involved in ransacking cars.

They claimed that supporters of AL lawmaker Sarah Begum Kabori ransacked the vehicles after her motorcade came under attack yesterday. Up to 12 vehicles were ransacked during the attack.

Kabori was going to Dhaka to attend a programme on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Awami League.

The attackers also damaged the gate at Chasara level crossing to disperse a procession.

Pointing finger at former AL lawmaker Shamim Osman, Kabori said the cadres of a certain group made the attack.

Shamim said the transport owners and workers were behind the incident
