MINISTRIES JOIN HANDS TO CREATE JOBS DATABASE12 Jul 10 Bangkokpost The industry, labour and education ministries have joined hands to create a shared labour database in a bid to deal with skills shortages. Vice-minister for industry Buddhipongse Punnakanta, labour permanent secretary Somchai Chumrat and education permanent secretary Chaleaw Yoosrimaruk yesterday signed an agreement to share their databases and create a central website (http://ledx.oie.go.th) that will serve as a labour bank. The website will store information about new graduates and job seekers that businesses and industries can tap. Mr Buddhipongse said the database would provide comprehensive information about potential workers. Integrating the databases would give both private and public sector enterprises access to sufficient manpower to match demand. |
