Worker registration

Fisheries operators can register their Cambodian, Lao and Burmese workers until Septem-ber 30. The deadline has been extended from July 30.

Following the registration, the workers will be allowed to stay in Thailand till February 28 next year.

The Cabinet yesterday agreed to extend the registration deadline after a committee on the management of illegal alien workers pointed out that a large number of fishing trawlers had been out at sea, thus making it impossible for so many aliens to get registered.
